Welp, I am back! After a week away from work, home and the blog I have returned from southern California. It was a fun week that felt just long enough. I feel recharged, excited and eager to get back to work and my other projects. It was a fun time spent with family … both immediate and cousins. It brought back a lot of memories from family trips of year’s past.
Lots and lots of fun.
During the trip we not only spent time with family, but we spent a couple days in Disneyland and went to a taping of The Price is Right. This was the second time I’ve attended a taping of the show. The last was one of Bob Barker’s last shows back in 2007 when I went down with a bunch of friends from college.
I didn’t get on the show nor did any of my family members, but we were right behind Contestant’s Row and I am sure I got some great camera time. There was one point where one of the camera’s did a pan out on me after a commercial break. I’m not sure if it will make the final cut, but the episode runs on January 13th. So, set your DVRs!
I am not going to summarize the whole trip here, I did plenty of that on my Instagram account @mejosher and my Facebook picture album of the trip. Feel free to check those out. I will however share a number of pictures via my Instagram accounts here that might interest you.
I am glad to be back. I am excited to get back to work. And, get back into my training regime. It was nice to get away and now I feel refocused and refreshed.
But, I still want to go back. I could live in Disneyland. But, that’s beside the point.

I swear I’m not just eating all the foods on vacation. But, we stopped at @tk_burgers for lunch today. I got the grilled ahi sandwich while the siblings got the renowned TK cheeseburger. Making small choices and changes make a difference especially when trying to “stay on track” while on vacation. While I passed on the burger (this time) at least I snapped a great picture of one. They smelled awesome! Oh, I did sneak some fries … A-MAZE-BALLS! I need to spend a free meal here sometime. #tkburger #food #lunch #fries #health #wellness #fitness #vacation #beachfood #burgers #grill #hypothyroidism #hypothyroid #thyroid #lowtestosterone #testosterone #diet #weightloss #weightlossjourney @fight4phat @running180 @mejosher @tk_burgers A photo posted by Fight4Phat™ 🏃🏻💨 (@fight4phat) on
I’ve been itching to run the beach since I got here on Saturday and I finally got in a couple miles this evening on Huntington Beach. No Chariots of Fire playing in the background, but I felt the difference at sea level for sure! The world-famous Red Wagon corn dog. Hand-dipped, deep fried and definitely NOT on the diet. But, this is the reason why I run while on vacation. #disneyland #corndog #lunch #food #hypothyroidism #hypothyroid #thyroid #weightlossjourney #weightloss #vacation #diet #wellness #health #fitness @fight4phat @running180 @mejosher @disneyland A photo posted by Fight4Phat™ 🏃🏻💨 (@fight4phat) on

Dole Whip Floats & Fireworks! Two of my favorite things at Disneyland. If there is ONE snack I can indulge in and not feel bad about. Plus, it’s not a complete sugar overload like ice cream, chocolate or candy apples. Plus, it’s pretty cheap in terms of Disney treats. If that’s even a thing? And, to get your Dole Whip faster order inside the Enchanted Tiki Room queue. Trust me, it’s ten times faster than the line that lines all the way through Adventureland. #dolewhipfloat #disneyland #snacks #food #dole #pineapple #diet #health #wellness #hypothyroidism #hypothyroid #thyroid #lowtestosterone #testosterone #disney @fight4phat @running180 @mejosher @disneyland A photo posted by Fight4Phat™ 🏃🏻💨 (@fight4phat) on

As I blogged about a couple weeks ago before vacation, Fight4Phat is a new part of my blog. Instead of rehashing all of it read about it here. I am not starting it in earnest this week. This week will be spent setting up my 12 week program and developing that schedule. I am going to blog about most of that this upcoming Wednesday. Including sharing my 12 week program.
But, in my fight for phat … this past week I stayed about the same. I didn’t gain weight during my vacation. I tried to stay as in-line as possible. I had my share of treats and non-diet food. But, I either shared it or countered it with running or walking. I share this mainly to show that losing weight isn’t all about food as it is about your mentality.
I am excited to start sharing more about this journey this coming week.
