The Road to πŸ’―

I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting the past week. Actually, it’s been an emotional couple of weeks. Between processing the loss of my friend Robert Merriman and missing the Jackpot Ultra Running Festival — it’s kinda left me in a bit of a funk. Not a fun place to be. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. I’ve seen God’s hand in my life too many times to deny that….

Remembering Robert.

Earlier today we said goodbye to my dear friend Robert Merriman. It was a very emotional day. I am drained. So much sorrow, so much gratitude, so many laughs and so many cherished memories. I’m truly grateful and changed by his friendship — like so many within this running community of our’s here in Utah. I was able to share a few thoughts of Robert during his ‘celebration of life,’, which I was completely humbled…

Robert.

“A man’s friendships are one of the best measures of his worth.” Charles Darwin This post hurts my heart to write. But, my heart is expressed much better in written word than any other medium. My heart guides my words and thoughts about a man, a friend, that means so much to me. And, has meant so much to so many people on and off the trails. As many are reading Robert Merriman passed away…

RACE RECAP: Sweethearts 5K

Since I’ve had to scale back on the mileage with my ankle, I’ve been really enjoying the 5Ks as of late. It’s been years since I’ve concentrated on just 5Ks and I like it — a lot. It’s fun. Last week I ran the Frigid 5K and pushed myself to a 37:59 time. I wanted to test my ankle, but I also just wanted to see what I could do. And, I was impressed with…

Running from here onto July …

Hallelujah! January is now over. I absolutely hate January — it’s pretty much the Monday of months. I love the overturn into January from the holidays, but after January 1st — it just sucks. It’s somewhat because of the winter blues, but something horrible usually happens to me or others I love during the month. I have had a number of family members either pass away or get really sick during January — and it…

The Runcast: S03, E02 β€” ‘Loaned Legs’

Josher sits down with Carla Thorne to talk about her son amazing son Reese. Born withΒ a rare genetic disorder called PCH type II he wasn’t expected to live past two years old, but Reese has defied the odds. Taking each day as a gift the Thorne family adopted the mentality to live a life of ‘NO REGRETS’ with Reese embracing every moment. Finding running in 2011, Reese has done over 230 races — from 5Ks…

Time to commence — Operation Half Ass

I love organizing my fitness. I love mapping it all out. And, I love working toward those goals. Working toward these goals — whether their weight-loss or running related — is something I love and need. After my ‘More Grease for Greece’ campaign that I did from August to November to help me lose 35lbs. with the keto diet, I feel the need to hone in on my diet and workout regime, especially now that…
