Top 10 Race Medals of 2017

These are some of my favorite posts of the year. Each year I basically choose my Top 10 favorite race medals. There isn’t really a set criteria other than they’re my favorite and usually either catch my eye or mean something to me in relation to that race. The Runtastic Trilogy Medal is on the top of the list and shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering it also won The Joshby for Medal of…

Running in 2018

Sure it’s December and it’s a bit cliche to put these goal posts out. But, I’ve been writing, scheming and planning my 2018 race and training schedule pretty much since August or earlier. I’m an over planner — that’s just what I do. I love the last couple months of the year, because it allows me to be retrospective of the past year and finalize my upcoming year’s plan. The new year brings a renewed…

Running in 2018 …

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about my road to 180 races. My 180th race will be July 24th — pretty much SMACK in the middle of the year. So that means I’ve got January through July pretty much covered — but, what about the last half? What’s after my 180th race? That’s a good question. While I am trying to figure out my 2018 race schedule, I’ve had a couple focuses — one,…

RACE #158: Nebo Half

NEBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I love this race. Absolutely love. I would marry it if I could. But, alas, I can’t marry races — which is pretty sad. But, that won’t displace the Nebo Half within my hearts of hearts. The course race holds my PR (2:08) that I set back in 2013. I am nowhere near that pace right now — and that’s okay. That can of worms is a post and a half for another day….

Experiencing the “Keto Krash” …

Remember how, when I started this diet, I said that I didn’t know what I was doing? Yeaaaaaah — last Saturday — I had NO idea what I was doing. While running the Run Elevated Half Marathon down Little Cottonwood here in Salt Lake, I totally crashed. Not the kind of crash where you fall down scrape your knees and whatnot, but physically, mentally and emotionally — CRASHED. It took me almost over a half…

The Road to 180 is within view …

It seems like the closer and closer I get to meeting my 180 goal the more rearranging and adding I am making to my race schedule. I am really excited to get my 180 goal over with. Don’t get me wrong — I love running and will continue to run after I meet my goal. But, I’m ready to move onto my next phase and some other goals within the running sphere. I am still…

Changes once again to my 2017 race schedule …

I think it’s becoming a near reoccurring theme that my 2017 race schedule keeps changing. And, well, it is. Because, that’s what it’s been like for me the past couple of years. But, it’s really shaping up to where I want/like it. I want to train hard during the winter months and then lightening out with half marathons come June/July-ish. Plus, I want to maintain my ultra training as much as I can. And, to…

Another Look at 2017 …

I am really trying to plan out my 2017 race schedule. If you’ve been following my blog even for the past three months you’ll know I’ve been working on my 2017 schedule pretty obsessively. Which is fine. I mean, it’s always subject to change — especially being three months away from the turning of the calendar. There have been a few races I’ve been going waffling over — namely the DesNews Marathon and a few…
