The Road to 180 is within view …

It seems like the closer and closer I get to meeting my 180 goal the more rearranging and adding I am making to my race schedule. I am really excited to get my 180 goal over with. Don’t get me wrong — I love running and will continue to run after I meet my goal. But, I’m ready to move onto my next phase and some other goals within the running sphere. I am still…

Another 2017 race audible …

So, after last week’s post about my remaining 2017 race schedule — I had a few changes. My 4th of July race — The 13 Miles of Freedom — was cancelled. Then I found out the dates of a few races were different than I originally thought. So that allowed me to pick up an extra race in November. That extra race is the Antelope Island Classic 50K, but I’ll be honest — not sure…

40 races to my goal …

This past weekend I ran my 140th race. It’s kind of hard to imagine I’ve run so many — it really seems like yesterday I just ran my 1st, 50th and 100th. All pretty significant milestones in my journey to 180 races before my 40th birthday. Now that I am just 40 races from my goal I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Not that I am not enjoying…

This should be my 2017 race schedule …

Okay, I think I’ve got my complete 2017 race schedule figured out. I think. Which is a definite maybe. But, let me explain it a little bit. I have a race each month except December. I might add a race in December, but I am not planning on it. It’s a good rest month after a long year of running. My busiest month is June. I have seven races planned for the month. Yes, seven….

The Joshbys: Top 10 Race Medals of 2016

This past year I’ve run some 20+ races. Well, more like 25. I had a few 5K races in there as well. But, I’ve collected quite the cache of race medals in 2016. Lots of blingity bling. As I have done the past couple of years I like to rank my favorites. There’s really no formula in my ranking. Other than what the medal means to me personally and whether or not I love the…

RACE #132: St. George Marathon

Back in 2012 when I started marathoning I ran three marathons in three months. I thought I was nuts (I was). I never thought I would be in a situation again where I would be doing that many marathons not just within three months, but within four weeks. That’s crazy … to at least me. I know there’s nothing special about it — there are many many many more impressive feats by much much much…

InstaReplay: St. George Marathon

I’ll get a whole St. George Marathon recap up here on the bloggy blog within the next couple of days. I’m going to first let it process for a bit. I had a blast and I hit the goals I wanted to hit during the race. Well, most of them. Anyways — here are a few snaps from the weekend … and by a few, I mean a lot … ST. GEEZY OR BUST, BABY!…

RACE #131: Huntsville Marathon

You know, I never thought I would say this — but, I kinda love running marathons. The half marathon is still my favorite, but I really love the challenge of the marathon. Everything from the training to actually running of the race — it’s so different from any less distanced race. Marathons have been pretty hard for me to run. I am not a fast runner — I am always one of the last runners out…
