Celebrating the Easters

IMG_3769This past week has been a fun, busy and unusual week. Hectically fun? That’s probably the best way to describe it. We’re about two weeks out to PrepperCon and I’ve been working on graphics non-stop. PLUS … I have a couple of other excited projects that I am currently working on. I can’t share details yet, but I think it will be something a lot people will like … especially runners.

In addition to PrepperCon this past weekend was also Orthodox Easter or Greek Easter, whatever you want to call it. We call it Easter in our family. There are a couple of pluses of being part Greek and that’s that you usually get TWO Easters. But, this Easter was special because it was our first one without our Yia Yia. So before we did all our celebrating we paid her and my Grandpa a visit. I miss her like crazy, especially around holidays like these.

I documented all of the festivities over on my Facebook. If you’re ever so inclined I’ll even let you stalk them by clicking here.

And, with all of that you know what? I didn’t do my long run on Saturday. I had a 10 mile run planned, but it didn’t happen. I got up on Saturday, but my body was just exhausted from the week before and I just needed rest. I don’t feel THAT bad about missing it. Actually, I don’t at all. I had a couple of awesome runs this past week, including a PR 5K on the treadmill, so I feel accomplished. Sure I only got 15 miles under my belt, but I am also going into a long racing run over the next month that I feel missing a long run won’t hurt me.

So, I rested and ended up shopping and cooking a lot of the food for Easter. So it’s not like I didn’t do anything in lieu of my running. I actually spent with family and family will always be more enjoyable to me than running.

Though, I can’t wait to get a couple of miles in on Monday!

I am not going to divulge on what my project is at the moment. But, this is a little teaser. Hopefully, I will have something to announce and talk about within the next couple of weeks. There will be a website and a couple of social media announcements.

So stayed tuned! I think you’ll love it whether or not you are a runner.
