For the 144 …

This past week has been a VERY emotional week for not just me, but lots of people — nationwide and within my circle of friends. It’s been a week full of sadness, somberness, reflection, anger and frustration. Sometimes separately, sometimes concurrently. It didn’t help that the week started with the news of the Vegas Shooting. I woke up at 2:45am to use the restroom and couldn’t back to sleep as I was following the updates….

Running my Name: Joshua + Snow

We’re down to three months left of the year. And, here I am still tweaking with my race schedule. Is anything truly finalized with me? Sometimes I wonder. But, as I work toward my 180th race and my 100 mile run, I’m looking to make 2018 a great year of running. And, part of that means spreading out my races to work into my time goals. That is one reason I’ve raced a lot this…

RACE #162: Jordan River Half Marathon

One of my greatest learned life lessons didn’t come from my Dad, a grandparent or some guru — it actually came from Kenny Rogers. Back in 1978 — before I was even a twinkle in my parents’ eyes, Kenny Rogers came out with a song called The Gambler with this advice — You’ve got to know when to hold ’em Know when to fold ’em Know when to walk away Know when to run You…

Running Thoughts …

So, the Mad Pooper is still at large, eh? Also, why couldn’t we have given her a better nickname than Mad Pooper? Seriously. Mad Squatter? Poopy Runner? Sh*tty Runner? So many better alternatives than Mad Pooper. Just sayin’ … There’s a new episode of The Runcast out today. I interview my friend Meridith in a special breast cancer awareness month episode. Give it a listen. Today is National Coffee Day or as we like to…

I am soooooo close to my goal …

Wow. After this past weekend’s race — I realized that I am only 19 races away from my goal! NINETEEN! I’m in the TEENS! Time flies so fast. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing this now for over six years. But, it’s also hard to believe that I am reaching this 10 year goal — three years early! Who would have thought? Who would have imagined the experiences I’ve had, races I’ve run…

RACE #161: Timp Elk Run

Well, let’s answer the question you’re obviously wondering — no, I didn’t see any elk. Like none. I hope that doesn’t keep you from reading further into my race report? In fact, I didn’t even really see any wildlife. Well, there was a dead mouse I saw at mile six. It wasn’t due to the plague — probably got ran over by a mountain bike? What a sad way to go. Anyways — onto the…

KETO UPDATE: One Month In

I’ve meant to post this earlier this week. But, thanks to not feeling too hot after my race this past weekend and working on that race recap, I’ve taken my time to get to get to it. But, that’s okay, it’s still relevant. The past month has gone by pretty quickly — it’s hard to believe that I am a month into my 36th year. Almost as hard as it is to believe that I…
